Stockholm Syndrome

So today I decided to do a study on Stockholm syndrome.  I got this idea while walking up the steps and my cat wouldn't stop yelling at me.
To begin the experiment I picked up my cat and cradled her.  Of course she struggled, as she hates to be picked up, but I refused to let go.  Instead I carried her to the bedroom and sat down to do my homework, forcing her to stay in my lap.  If it was my attention she wanted, then it was my attention she was going to get.
At first she tried to get away from me almost instantly.  Every time I would move my arm she would try to slip under it and escape.  However, I kept her in her place and refused to let her go.  Gradually the escape attempts became fewer and far between over time, until eventually she refused to leave even if I attempted to push her away.  As long as I gave her the pettings she wanted.  Now I am covered in cat hair and am being rubbed on by a very needy kitty who refuses to leave.



I believe this is what they call a success.
